Bilingual Childcare Teacher

Job Description
The Childcare Teacher, under direct supervision of the Childcare Director, will carry out the day-to-day classroom activities and operations to enhance the children's development to best prepare them for future educational experiences.
Responsibilities
- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Spanish American Committee Childcare.
- Assist in setting up defined learning areas and maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment that is arranged to support independence.
- Assume responsibility of the classroom in the absence of the teacher or as needed.
- Maintain safe classroom environment, which includes monthly fire/tornado drills.
- Maintain a healthy environment through daily classroom routines.
- Assist in writing lesson plans.
- Record ongoing observation of children, writing anecdotal notes, and displaying their work.
- Encourage good daily hygiene and model eating habits.
- Attend to child/children when an emergency arises and administer first aid and CPR.
- Sit, eat and socialize with the children during meal and snack time.
- Report immediately and record any signs of illness or injury, write up an incident report and submit it within 24 hours of the incident.
- Engage in children’s play in all areas of the classroom and all parts of the curriculum (i.e., floor play, outdoor/movement/music activities).
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development trainings as required.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a daycare or preschool classroom
- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Child Development Associate (CDA). Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid required.
- Must have a working knowledge of all local, state, and federal laws and procedures pertaining to childcare licensing.

Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

Job Description
The Licensed Social Worker performs assessments, determines diagnosis, and provides interventions to assist Latino individuals and families, including counseling, education, advocacy, referral, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, problem-solving, coordination of family/team meetings, and the provision of concrete services. The LSW maintains a network of resources for consultation and helps patients connect to community resources to facilitate optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Work with individuals and families to develop a comprehensive support system to overcome barriers to mental health and socioeconomic success.
- Coordinate services with community agencies, service providers, and medical personnel to implement an individual service plan.
- Monitor progress and conduct follow-ups with clients to gauge the effectiveness of individual service plans.
- Assist in conducting outreach into the community to engage individuals in direct services.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to link them to services in the Greater Cleveland community.
- Adhere to social work guidelines established by Cuyahoga County, the Ohio Department of Health, and the National Association of Social Workers.
- Maintain client data and information; complete reports and documentation in a timely manner and prepare reports for the program manager
Qualifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted LSW licensure in the state of Ohio required.
- Must be fluent in both Spanish and English with a thorough knowledge of Latino culture.
- Work experience in advocacy service, case management, or similar work with the public in a direct service setting required.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license, accessibility to a vehicle, and current automobile insurance.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Windows Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
